Diopside comes in a variety of colors and similar to Zircon or Peridot. A Chrome rich variety is called Chrome Diopside, The Chatoyant type is the Diopside Cats-eye mostly in green, which are rare and much sought after by Collectors.
The green "cat's eye" variety contains minute inclusions, probably of rutile, that reflect light in such a way as to produce a lively linear luminscence within the crystal
