Serendibite derives its name from the old Arabic name “Serendib” for Sri Lanka - or “ Land of Gems ”.

Serendibite is an extremely rare boron-bearing mineral that is only rarely found as facet grade material and found almost exclusively in the Ratanapura area in Sri Lanka, Locality: Gangapitiya near Ambakotte, Serendibite is Vitreous and comes in Blue, Blue green, Gray blue, Light yellow, Dark blue with Glassy luster..

Serendibite is extremely rare and are much sought-after by collectors.
